The Adventure Begins
In the early 90s, Giles and Annie Henschel embarked on a year-long adventure that would inspire Olives Et Al. Travelling by motorbike through the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North Africa, they fell in love with the foods they discovered along the way.
Gathering Inspiration
They couldn’t gather many souvenirs, but they did gather recipes, hoping to re-capture the essence of what they had tasted abroad. Every jar and flavour at Olives Et Al traces back to these adventures and the culinary secrets they collected along the way.
Launching Olives Et Al
Using all the knowledge from their travels, they launched Olives Et Al in 1993 to satisfy their own culinary cravings and to share great olives with a wider audience. A humble start, but one built on passion and authenticity.
30+ Years of Craft
Now over 30 years on, the Olives Et Al team has been faithfully re-creating those recipes, discovering many more along the way, and sourcing top-notch ingredients from trusted suppliers. Some of the people met on that first journey are still part of the story today.
